Large Format Printing Guide

Large format printing, banners, pop up exhibition systems, wallpaper, canvas, Fine art print...

Supported applications:
We support Files from the following applications: Adobe Acrobat High Resolution PDF preferred, Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop (preferred format TIFF) and Quark XPress.

Files from other applications can be supplied as EPS Files but please be aware that these will be printed as supplied and we can’t be responsible for errors resulting in them not following these saving guidelines.

Links:
Please provide all corresponding links that are used within the Files created with the applications listed above. These include fonts, images, logos.

Visuals:

Customer colour visuals must be supplied for all print jobs. This ensures that we maintain our quality control and you the customer receive correct prints. Please state on the print if we are to colour match to the visual otherwise it will be accepted that it is for content only. No liability can be held by Coloursonic for jobs that are supplied without customer visuals.

Colour reproduction:
We will match as close as is possible to any Pantone colour references in your print documents. If a specific Pantone colour or spot colour is crucial for colour matching we can either supply a colour test print/colour chart (for a small fee) or provide you with a CMYK colour breakdown. Please note that our Large Format printing processes cannot reproduce metallic or Fluorescent colours.

Image Resolution:
Client images should be approximately 300dpi when printed at full size on images below one metre in size. Above this size the resolution can be decreased to make File handling easier, please call for details.

RGB or CMYK:
For best colour reproduction we prefer images to be supplied RGB. Our print work flow will then convert the images where appropriate for accrute colour output. Where possible please supply images in there native File
format.

Colour profiles:
Upon saving Photoshop Files please use Adobe RGB (1998) for RGB images and Europe ISO FOGRA27 for CMYK
images.

Bleed:
3MM bleed for artwork measuring 500MM< on the longest edge.

5MM bleed for artwork measuring 500 > 1000MM on the longest edge.

10MM bleed for artwork measuring 1000 > 1500MM on the longest edge.

For wrap mounted prints the thickness of the substrate should be allowed for exculsive of bleed.

Artwork scale:
Clients should work to a sensible scale such as 1:2, 1:4 or 1:10 when creating artwork. This will allow our RIPs to enlarge the artwork to the desired size.

Vinyl Cut:
Please use vector outlines in applications such as Illustrator or Freehand.

File formats:
Clients can supply their Files on CD, DVD, hard disk, email (up to 10Mb) and via our FTP. Our FTP facility is available on our website. This facility enables you to upload your artwork to us (via FTP) please copy the web address below to access our FTP site.

Max. internal printed width: 1500MM
Max. external printed width: 4950MM
Larger sizes are achieved by tiling.

Maximum cut vinyl size:
Max cut vinyl (depending on colour) 1200MM

Studio:
We offer a full design service who can design your large format point of sale, vehicle wrap etc. Our in-house studio staff can help with any inkjet large format print enquiry.

Account Handlers:
Our Account Handlers are all experienced in large format print and production. They are there to help and advise you should you have any problems.

Backup procedure:
We currently run a 6 months policy on holding backups.
